Star Wars According to Sol

August 31st, 2009

Sol and I have played a lot of Star Wars over the last few days as he’s been allowed to watch a little bit of the movies on top of his Lego Star Wars Wii obsession. I think the following little web app I wrote illustrates the thought processes nicely: Star Wars According to Sol Plot Generator

I like it! Just be ready for daily conversations about challenging plot points like who is evil at the beginning (or end) and why they change and the confusion between Anakin who is good and then turns evil and the Emperor/Senator Palpatine who is always evil but just pretending to be good. And balancing balloons on one finger using The Force.

Heh, well it turns out I might have a reprieve from Star Wars movie related discussion because Sol really didn’t like Darth Maul and has decided he will wait until he is older to watch the other movies. He’s happy to stick with the Lego version for now. In hindsight, I should have known Darth Maul would be too scary. But he loved all the scenes with Ja Ja Binks of course.

Wow – my boys loooove Darth Maul. But they are slightly older. Except for Zac, who laughs a lot at Jar Jar. Of course. Clearly the under 5s were Lucas’ target audience there.

That plot generator is fantastic. Pure awesome.

In other news, Sol has overcome his fear of Mr Maul so it’s all back on again. Also, Attack of the Clones has grabbed him because of Jango Fett. Glad you liked the plot generator Sam, maybe version 2 is in the pipeline, Sol’s Star Wars based ramblings seem to be progressing to a more complex state.
