Aw. Little boys really enjoy smashing things, don’t they? My brother was the same.

I’m not sure your daughter was that into the whole affair, though.

Wow! Sol can get a strike and i can’t… oh boy.

Emma, maybe you should ask for one of those funky ramps that Sol’s using, next time you go bowling?

I get strikes all the time . . . in Wii Bowling, in my living room. It counts!

Having the bumpers up helped us get a higher score. My first few bowls bounced several times and Sol’s first bowl took about a minute to get to the other end (after that we used the ramp). Wii bowling is much better for your self esteem (as is wii tennis, golf, baseball and boxing).

I’m loathe to disagree with you on your own blog, Matt, but Wii baseball in terrible for my self-esteem: I don’t think I’ve ever once connected with the ball.

But Wii Bowling, yes. And Golf. And Tennis—until I hit 500 points, start losing, slide 100 point down the rankings, then start winning again.

It’s a roller coaster of emotions.

I hate Wii boxing but that’s just because I suck at it.
Sol is doing fine taking a minute for the ball to reach the end, I have friends who have been bowling for years and still take a minute for the ball to reach the end.
How soon before he learns to rig the computer to give him a strike every time?

Sol’s wii bowling technique is unorthodox but he gets quite few strikes anyway. Catriona: Steph would agree with you on the baseball front. Sam: boxing is a complete mystery to me but I still can usually get a KO even if I don’t know how or why.
